Welcome to my practice!
Since 1997, I have helped many individuals, couples and families grow stronger and more resilient through the process of adjusting to challenging life changes. Because I believe that people can heal themselves with compassionate and competent care, I collaborate with clients to identify and enhance their strengths, define their own goals and create paths to resolution. Within this safe and supportive environment, clients can explore their options as well as their limitations, promoting both growth and healing. I use a variety of therapeutic interventions to meet individual needs and do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, national origin, gender or sexual orientation.
Education, Training, Experience
I earned my Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, with an emphasis on marriage and family counseling. As a registered dietitian for 26 years, I developed a unique background in the treatment of eating disorders, obesity and other chronic health conditions. My years of work in healthcare facilities advanced my understanding of compassion fatigue and burnout prevention in professional caregivers. I am certified in level 1 & 2 EMDR for the treatment of issues related to trauma.
